Ciao Milano
Time to say, “See you soon Milan”.
Our Director Dennis Arnold travelled across the globe to attend the Milan Design Week and Salone del Mobile in search of the latest creations and to exchange ideas with other professionals in the design field.
The sheer variety and ingenuity of the designs on display were worth walking around the exhibition halls and outdoor events from early morning to late at night for days. This fair brought together Designers, Architects, design studios, and students, showcasing the freshest ideas.
There were fascinating 3D printing projects by emerging Designers. These products will revolutionise the manufacturing processes as products can be quickly and easily made, using materials not seen or used before.

The 50’s and 60’s aesthetics are coming back strongly. Strong patterns, organic shapes, and bold colours had manifested in furniture designs across different brands.
Knitted textiles were used extensively throughout the exhibition, adding texture and playfulness to objects.
Dennis highlights this as one of the most exciting trends as it adds a new twist to an old classic, or transforms a utilitarian piece into something eye-catching.
Cutting-edge designs with a futuristic edge have been another one of our favourite themes. And this could be seen in the different lighting exhibitions that runs alongside the furniture show. We have seen an ingenious synthesis of creativity, design, and technology. We predict this will be defining trend that makes its way from the commercial world and into our homes very soon.
The furniture industry is constantly pushing the boundaries by challenging the traditional concepts of functionality and aesthetic. Minimalistic pieces are layered with lighting and textiles that turn them into sculptural masterpieces. Technology is incorporated to make complex and technical pieces seem simple.
The fair this year was an extraordinary showcase of innovation, creativity, and resilience in the world of design. The continued shift towards sustainable materials and innovative technologies was evident. We feel inspired to incorporate these evolving techniques and trends into our own design and manufacturing processes.
Grazie Milano!
